The Lancaster Flying Arrows football team won 35-0 over Richland Center during the fifth weekend of the high school season.
There were 3 turnovers in the 1st quarter. Richland Center’s Blake Mueller had an interception, but the Hornets were unable to capitalize. The Arrows scored on the first play of the second quarter when Toay Ragatz threw a 6 yard strike to Lukas Weber. The 2 point conversion failed when the pass was deflected by the Hornets Deakyn Heisz.
Lancasters Toay Ragatz ran for a 2 yard touchdown and threw the 2 pointer to Tracin Fishnik to make it 14-0. The play that set the tone for the rest of the night was a Ragatz to Lukas Weber 26 yard strike with :25 remaining in the half. A.J. Weidenbeck ran for 2 and the score was 22-0 at halftime. The Arrows scored two more touchdowns in the second half. Toay Ragatz threw to Teddy Ragatz for a 37 yard touchdown strike and later covered 35 yards with a pass to A.J. Wiedenbeck which got the continuous clock running with 10:11 remaining.
With the 35-0 win, Lancaster earned it’s first win and will travel to Brodhead/Juda during the 6th win of the season. Richland Center is 1-4 and will travel to New Glarus Friday.
